Utility Essay Example For Students

Utility Essay Utility: An Impartial and Equitable StandpointThe establishment of Utility depends on John Stuart Mill’s idea that one must endeavor to act in such a manner to deliver the best great of the best number. Utility itself depends on the obligation of the person to stay fair in his undertaking to create the best great, looking past such extraneous impacts that may render the person to look for a one-sided feeling of fulfillment. With the goal for Utility to work as Mill needed it to, legitimate judgment and objectivity must be a fundamental piece of one’s drive for the obtaining of the best great. We will compose a custom article on Utility explicitly for you for just $16.38 $13.9/page Request now All together for the request that value and unprejudiced nature to maintain Mill’s Utility, we should discover an establishment from inside his argumentation that will bolster it. In this manner we go to Mill’s authorizations, or motivations that he proposes to drive one towards the way of Utility. Mill’s first approval, the inward assent, drives one to act morally in light of the dread of disappointment that may emerge from others on the off chance that one doesn't act as such. Factory legitimizes that people want the warmness of others as a motivator to acting unselfishly in the endeavor to procure the best great, and dread the disappointment of others. Mill’s second approval, the inward assent, is generally an individual’s internal inner voice. With the suspicion that the still, small voice is unadulterated and liberated from debasement, Mill infers that fulfillment is delivered to the inner voice when one effectively and morally focuses on oneâ €™s obligations, the obligation of Utility. What is undesired is the inclination of disappointment that produces when one doesn't act obediently. All together for this method of reasoning to bode well, one must do what is practically unavoidable when propositioning such a tremendous idea, for example, the moral standard of ethical quality, and that is to assume, In practically all structures and translations of profound quality, there has been the presupposition that happens to introduce the idea. Mill’s Utilitarianism surmises that people do have an idea for general prosperity, and that is really commonly acceptable and persistently moral. It is this speculation that brings forth for these authorizations that he has tended to, and it is the job of the amicableness of man that decides the value of his activities. This is additionally the turn in Mill’s mechanics that is likely most contended upon. Kant, Neibhor, and Plato would have had a lot to state on Millâ€⠄¢s presumption of the characteristic integrity of humankind and his offered nature to do great. In the event that unprejudiced nature and value are what cooperative attitude and obligation deliver, Mill includes gave a premise inside utilitarianism that strengthens this. Beside particular approvals, numerous different parts of Utility lead to the idea that fairness and value are set strongly inside the system of Mill’s translation. As indicated by Mill, all individuals are, morally, equivalent in all circumstances. While thinking about the estimation of satisfaction starting with one individual then onto the next, the issue is proposed to be a straight line speaking to the correspondence the incentive from individual to person. One person’s bliss is similarly as significant as another’s. In view of this, there is no such motivation to try and think about a one-sided see on the dispersion of bliss, for in the beholder’s eyes, it is only equivalent. Utility additionally expresses that the more prominent number that gains bliss is generally wanted, so there is no genuine motivation to think about some other method to disseminate it however equitably. A one-sided approach would demonstrate wasteful, and in light of the idea th at Mill is just worried about the consequences of ones activities, not the aim, it would just bode well to be fair-minded. How is fairness and value in utility conceivable? As a matter of first importance, are no moral rules that are conceded to by everybody, except there is an unmistakable degree of understanding with respect to what is correct and what's going on. Among the conspicuous are the ideas that liberality, balance, and honesty are correct, and this backings the presupposition that Mill makes about the great - nature of human profound quality. Hence fair-mindedness and value can be contended to overrun Utility. Second, the individual who tries to disseminate satisfaction to just a specific gathering or type

How to prep your recommenders COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog

How to prep your recommenders COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog We get recommendation letters from all sorts of interesting people, from elected officials to corporate vice presidents to professors at the top of their field. But just because someone has a fancy title doesn’t mean they’re an expert at writing graduate school recommendations.   Do not assume your references don’t need a little a coaching just because they’ve written a letter of recommendation before.   Even professors, who are used to being asked to write on their students’ behalf may be unfamiliar with the practical and professional nature of our program.   Your recommendations are a valuable way for the admissions committee to get to know you on a deeper level, so it’s important that you help your references put your best foot forward.   Here are some tips on how to get the most out of your recommendations. Choose recommenders who know you and what you’re like in a professional or academic setting.   Having a relationship with the President of the World Bank is nice, but unless you worked with him on a day-to-day basis he’s probably not the best person to speak to your work ethic and professional abilities. The admissions committee is less impressed by recommenders with fancy titles and more interested in hearing from someone who can give them a sense of who you are and how you work. For this reason recent or long time immediate supervisors usually work best. We suggest two professional and one academic references. However, since the vast majority of our incoming students have been out of undergrad for several years you may choose three professional references if you feel that’s more appropriate.   We are not interested in references from personal friends or family members.

Double Consciousness - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 3 Words: 828 Downloads: 6 Date added: 2018/12/18 Category Philosophy Essay Type Research paper Level High school Tags: African American Essay Discrimination Essay Racism Essay Did you like this example? The Souls of Black Folks investigates the concept of double consciousness. According to W.E.B. Du Bois (1903) double consciousness is looking at ones self through the eyes of another who sees you with amused disapproval and contempt. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Double Consciousness" essay for you Create order The concept discusses the progress and the struggle for freedom that African American went through up until 1903. Du Bois explores the inner struggle that the African American went through in the Caucasian-dominated culture. This paper examines Du Bois theory of double consciousness within the context of how Africans American see themselves through the eyes of European Americans who saw them with contempt and disregard. The black that is the African American had no ways to describe the feeling or the pain that the American subjected them. The two different views from each thus resulted in the concept of double consciousness. Primarily, double consciousness was developed as a result of close to three centuries of slavery experienced by African Americans. They experiences al sought of prejudice from the mainstream culture. To Du Bois, the concept of the veil referred to one the dark skin of the blacks which was the real distinction of the blacks from the whites. Second, it represent ed the lack of the whites to see the blacks as true Americans and also the lack of the blacks to view themselves different from what the white saw them. In their lifetime the African American had their most devastating time at the time the realized they were blacks and that was a problem and this to them was a life-altering encounter. The blacks had a hard time as they had to split their inner self to fit in and they had to see themselves in the eyes of the white. To DuBois, the veil meant that the white could not see the black beyond their race and the black, on the other hand, could not see themselves beyond the negative part that is his color. The veil, therefore, puts more emphasis on the black who had the two-ness in them in that they were half blacks and half Americans (Du Bois, 2008.) Moreover apart from the problem of their physical appearance the blacks still did not acquire full and equal citizenship as the whites even after slavery came to an end. The African Americans still struggled to overcome their experience like political power and physical freedom. As they tried to move on the blacks had more to unfold for example they had to struggle to get the right to vote and once they acquired the right to vote they had to fight against segregated education. The African American, therefore, have to fight to acquire equality at all levels, and until then they will still have the concept of double consciousness deep in them. The deep-rooted double consciousness was a result of the inner turmoil that the African felt and this highly manifested in the hesitant of trying to attain equal status as that of the Caucasian man. Du Bois claimed that there is a deep struggle for the black Americans to be fully considered as Americans and still hold on their African heritage. They had to ever feel the twoness in them, an American and a black person, have two souls two thoughts and two worrying ideas and one black body. Du Bois, hoped that instead of holding on to the twoness or the different identity, one day the Americans and the African American could be able to coexist peacefully (Du Bois, 2008). He hopes that they can be considered in their identity without feeling threatened split, discriminated or cursed right on their faces. The expectation of the culture group to Du Bois was beyond the desire to thrive in a world that gave them limited opportunities. It was then that it dawned on the black Americans that their struggle was unproductive it deemed to them that they had to be themselves and not another to gain their true identity. They had to replenish their minds with new ideas from the system of slavery and racial stratification. They had to act to open the door of prosperity that had been closed and leading to the state of double consciousness. The influence of racist practice had a high degree of negativity on the black Americans and deeply extended the double consciousness in 19century. Notably, Du Bois worked towards mitigat ing the social injustices in the society brought about by prejudices and discrimination based on color. He believed in a vibrant culture of education and internal awareness as a way of recovering from the double consciousness and the practices of the racists. To acquire an egalitarian society, Du Bois believed that both the Americans and the Black Americans need to realize and examine their characters and success since emancipation. Self-determination and encouragement would encourage the African Americans in achieving oneness, and no longer view themselves in the concept of double consciousness. References Du Bois, W. E. B. Samuel Taylor Coleridge Romanticism - 1065 Words

Samuel Taylor Coleridge s Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a poem which forged the beginnings of the romantic era in which Coleridge lived. Whilst still containing vivid imagery characteristic of the romantic era, its ballad form and its internal archaisms reflect another more ancient period of literature, though no specific one. Part three of the poem entails the mariner recounting the crew s thirst and the sighting of the ship, which turned out to be a form of ghost ship which carried Death and the personified nightmare Living Death. Death and Living Death gambled with dice and Living Death won, upon which it instantly became night and the entire crew bar the mariner died, though not before cursing him with their eyes. The Rime of the†¦show more content†¦The rhyming pattern returns to abcb and thus returns to the most common rhythm in the poem, returning the tale to normal time. The first line seems slower than the following three, as it contains elongated vowel sounds in o ne, after and moon, and the repetition of one seems to draw out the anger felt by the crew at the mariner. The sixteenth stanza details the death of the crew members. In line three there is internal rhyme in the words thump and lump, as well as alliteration in lifeless lump. This, coupled with the repetition of the word one in the fourth line, creates the sense of swift brutality surrounding the crew members deaths as the sounds are quite abrupt and decisive. This stanza introduces a slightly apocalyptic tone, appearing frequently in romantic poetry as a result of the expectations of an apocalypse aroused by the French Revolution. After the apocalypse it was expected that the world would begin anew, and restore its relationship with God, which may be indicative of Coleridge s own feeling of longing and alienation from God. The seventeenth stanza describes the souls leaving the crews bodies. In this stanza the rhyming pattern changes to abab, serving to make this stanza more conclusive as it ends part three. In the third and fourth lines there is a continued simile, of the souls passing the mariner by like the whiz of his cross bow. This emphasises the speed at which the souls left and the mariner s powerlessness to stop it fromShow MoreRelatedThe Troubled Souls Of Burdened Authors In The Late Eighteenth1602 Words   |  7 PagesThe troubled souls of burdened authors in the late eighteenth through late nineteenth century permitted Romanticism to be recognized as the different development that characterized disaster and sentimentalism as the justification for delightful motivation. Essay on Conformity in Brave New World - 1122 Words

Conformity in Brave New World The novel, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley first published in 1932, presents a very bleak out look of what future society will be like. The novel presents a future of where almost total conformity is a carefully guarded aspect of society. Even before one is decanted they are conditioned to fill a specific roll and to act a certain way. Everyone, while still in their jar, is conditioned to fit into a specific caste. The castes range from Alpha Double Plus down to Epsilon Semi-Moron. Once one is decanted they are put through various types of conditioning, depending on caste, and are raised solely by World State officials. He feels that he can write better things, things outside the norms of society, which would have more meaning. Society is challenged once Bernard finds John. John was a boy who, Bernard found on a Savage Reservation in New Mexico. Johns mother (oh yeah mother is another word that has lost its usefulness in society except when describing animal or savages) had gone to the reservation with the Director of Hatcheries in London, Bernards boss, and had acidently ended up pregnant. She was unable to have the pregnancy aborted, as was normal practice if one ended up pregnant, so she was forced to give birth to John. Society considers this disgusting, so she was quite ashamed of this. Bernard saw an opportunity, the director had threatened to send him to Iceland, because of Marxs unorthodox ideas, so Bernard decided to embarrass the Director. Article Analysis Stand Up By Suzy Sausagehead

For this paper, students were to write an analysis of three articles in how they relate to each other based on their commonality. They were to also examine their differences by looking at quantitative and qualitative data from each article. The instructor notes that the basis of their thesis must come from one commonality that each article has as they relate to one another (such as an article dealing with issues of discrimination or religion etc.). The goals and objectives of this paper was to encompass all the skills and knowledge gained throughout the course of the semester which were but are not limited to: critical reading, annotating and outlining, quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing, and critiquing of other articles. This paper served as the student’s final assignment for the course. The piece I have chosen to look at is a rough draft of â€Å"Stand Up† by Suzy Sausagehead. In this paper, Suzy has chose to look at â€Å"Selling Safe Sex in Public Schools,† à ¢â‚¬Å"We are Each Other’s Business,† and â€Å"There is No God.† Suzy makes the claim that the common theme among the three articles is standing up for ones belief and/or lack of courage to do so. She also offers a common thread among the three for a crucial decision on voicing personal opinion. In looking at her introductory paragraph, I would advise including some sort of attention getter – some strong statement. I personally do not like starting essays with quotes or statistics but if uses properly I would allow it, but this

Gun Control A Reference Handbook - 1639 Words

Although, he is mostly known for his contributions to science and mathematics, Plato, a Greek philosopher, too held views on armament control. To expand, he reflected praises for an oligarchy government, a government with all power, along with favoring the withdrawal of arms from citizens and a desire to enforce the holding of weapons in his state. Plato also wished to impose obligatory military training and have military operations once a month, as mentioned by Earl R. Kruschke in his book Gun Control: A Reference Handbook. The policies that Plato once respected are much like policies that are in place and are in consideration for the future. Gun control, a major issue throughout the world, is a controversial topic within many countries.†¦show more content†¦Patrick J. Charles, a former legal analyst, presents an illustration from eighteenth century England, Thomas Erle, a former general, brought to the attention of the Parliament that â€Å"every substantial householder i n any town or city should be provided with a good musket in case of invasion†. Other beliefs of the people in this era were that firearms were for the purpose of suitable protection, which both gun rights and gun control advocates are in support of. In relation, Kruschke describes a case that takes place under Germanic Saxon laws. Under these laws, men obtained the requirement to join the army and any man who withheld land was to have armor and weapons. Furthermore, training in the practice of the people’s weapons, along with â€Å"annual military exercises for the purpose of review† were in place. In the countries that enacted laws for the handling of arms, a large amount of preparation obliged the government to ensure proper use of weapons. In like manner, there was an abundant amount of other laws practiced in the past to benefit the control of hunting, crime, and carrying of arms. In England there were countless laws on hunting privileges. Many laws of the f ifteenth century focused on this concern. King Henry VII had multiple rulings forbidding certain weapons to help reduce hunting in his kingdom, but

Forbidden Joy Of Freedom In Mrs. Louise Mallards The...

Freedom is defined as being able to do, say, and think whatever one desires. Everybody wants to have the freedom to do whatever they want without the stress of somebody else holding them back. People do not want to be told what they can and cannot do; however, some freedom is restricted. For example, during the 1890s, which is the time period of â€Å"The Story of an Hour,† when a woman marries they are expected to keep a good social status, tend to their husbands, and take care of their home. Therefore, the freedom of doing anything and everything a woman desires is taken away when she chooses to take part in a relationship. This is what happened to Mrs. Louise Mallard. Her freedom was taken away because of her marriage but is later rekindled†¦show more content†¦Sharon Harris also believes that the news seems to bring her tears of relief instead of grief (1). The theme is represented by Mrs. Mallard’s reaction because she feels held down by the pressure of so ciety and how she is supposed to act; however, she cannot fulfill those expectations, symbolizing forbidden joy of freedom. Mrs. Mallard reflects on her love for her husband after receiving the news of his death, which also represents forbidden joy of freedom. When Mrs. Mallard descends to her room, she looks out the window and thinks about life without her husband, and she suddenly realizes that she is free. Mrs. Mallard, being the loving wife that she is, knows that she is expected to mourn for her husband; however, she cannot rid herself of the overwhelming sense of freedom. Mrs. Mallard expresses the theme of forbidden joy of freedom by saying that she will cry at her husband’s funeral because she knows that is expected from her by society, but she is excited for the years of freedom to come (Chopin 237). Although she loves him, and she knows that he loves her, she is still relieved that the stress of her malignant marriage is no more. She is no longer held down by her husband and the duties of being a wife. A Belief System

A Belief System- The Crucible Essay After reading The Crucible by Arthur Miller, one cannot help but wonder why when given the chance to confess to the accusations and live, did the characters choose to stay firm and die? For people today that question is not easily answered. In the past however, this was not a question at all. The answer was found within the strong religious background that most of the accused were raised on, and the feeling of pride and honor they felt in their hearts. John Proctor exemplifies the importance of a strong name through his actions and choices throughout the play; most significantly the fourth act when he chose death over disgracing his name. Giles Coreys refusal to reveal the name of the informant who accused Putnam of conspiracy also shows the role of justice in these individuals lives, letting God be the judge of their actions in life and not their peers. Sometimes you have to stand for more. Throughout the play one of the central themes continues to be John Proctors, Giles Coreys, and Rebecca Nurses refusal to degrade their souls with lies of confession only to save themselves from the unjust accusations of witchcraft. In this time and era the people living in and around Salem, Massachusetts were from Puritan faith and lived very strict lives. At this point in history there was still no separation between church and state, so the church had a major role in each individuals life. When Reverend Parris came upon the children of Salem dancing and conducting against their religion, they were accused of being in a pact with the devil by many of the towns people in the beginning. Rumors spread, and innocent people were charged of witchcraft. Some of the accused were, in every aspect, a perfect Puritan. Rebecca Nurse was one of these individuals. She was held in high opinion by almost everyone, except for Ann Putnam, who blamed her for the unexplained deaths of her seven children Rebecca had delivered. Ann Putnam claimed that Rebecca sent her spirit out on them. At one point there was even a testament signed and proposed in court declaring many peoples good opinion of Goody Nurse. Giles Corey was an old, strong-willed man, accused of witchery. After trying to disprove the faulty actions of the court and refusing to give up the name of his informant he was killed. Proctor was accused of witchcraft while trying to defend his wife, and was then later executed when he refused to slander his name. These three proud individuals did not want to confess to the lies they were accused of doing only to save their lives. For what is a name when you have no soul to go with it? That is what these individuals faced. The religious background of these individuals was the cause of their refusal to confess to the accusations toward them. Both Giles Corey and John Proctor believed in letting God be the judge of their faults. When Giles Corey refused to answer to his indictment in order to preserve his lands ownership for his family, he was trusting in a higher power, God, even when death was his punishment. Proctor also felt this way, and when arguing with Danforth about his confession of adultery, he turned to God as his judge when he said, I have confessed myself! Is there no good penitence but it be public? God does not need my name nailed upon the church! God sees my name; God knows how black my sins are! It is enough! 4. 132. These two individuals lost hope in the justice system that ruled their lives here on earth, so instead they decided to put their trust in their religious background and their belief in God as the definitive judge. Times have changed since the era in which John, Giles, and Rebecca lived. During the Salem witch trials confessing to a lie to save your life was an option many people chose, others did not out of a sense of pride and honor. As I Lay Dying, by William Faulkner Analysis EssayJohn Proctor was the perfect example of this. He had self-respect, particularly for his name. After verbally admitting his sin, Danforth wished for him to sign his name on a document, which would be displayed in public as evidence for his confession. He refused saying, How may I live without my name? I have given you my soul; leave me my name! 4. 133. John would rather die then give up his name. He had already given up his soul; he refused to give them the joy of his name. Hale then pleaded with his wife to take Johns shame away before it was to late; Elizabeth defended his choice saying He have his goodness now. God forbid I take it from him! 4. 134. Elizabeth knew that John had made a decision he believed in. She could not tell him that what he felt in his heart was wrong. Rebecca Nurse summed it up best when she said to John, Let you fear nothing! Another judgement waits us all! 4. 133. Throughout history people have chosen to die with honor instead of living full of guilt the remainder of their life. The above mentioned characters chose to die for their beliefs, not wishing to demean their lives, names, or families. The Salem witchcraft era was another extreme example of mans fear of the unknown, the unexplainable. Often in life people take for granted what it is that truly makes them who they are. Too many times people are willing to sacrifice their name or beliefs for something that is not admirable. The honor felt by those individuals in their heart and their knowledge of the truth is what prevented them from confessing to lies. History has a way of repeating itself. Over and over again there are examples of individuals who decided that they stood for something more than lies. In biblical times John died for his beliefs. Joan of Arc did the same. The Crucible shows a historical event in recent history, which reaffirms peoples belief in themselves and their reasons for not degrading their souls. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture of life and decide what you stand for. John, Giles, and Rebecca all discovered what was truly important to them and for that they died.

Now that Im a High School Senior Essay Example For Students

Now that Im a High School Senior Essay After about 12 years of hard work and education, I am finally a senior. I am at the top of the high school hierarchy. I remember watching my siblings graduate and thinking, †When will it be my time? Now, all of a sudden, it is! This year is a year of lasts; last first day of high school, last exam, last prom, last paper. It is a scary thought, but also exciting. This year is going to be one of the most emotional and crazy years of one’s life. It is a year of reflection on what goals, fears and plans are for the future. My senior year, compared to others, is a little bit different. I can say it has been a big adjustment. I just recently moved from Cary, North Carolina to Parkersburg, West Virginia. So, although it is a year of â€Å"lasts†, it is also a year of â€Å"firsts†. I already miss things from where I lived before. I constantly think about my friends back home and remember all the great times we had. Also, I miss my family that has been there for me through thick and thin. It really isn’t that easy to stop those nostalgic feelings from forming. I don’t know if one calls that easier or harder to leave for college because I somewhat know what it feels like. I don’t have those established relationships and connections here. Is this going to be another hit to the heart because I will eventually grow to love them too? Those thoughts are constantly in my head, like a broken record player. One of my fears of being a senior is Senioritis. I am afraid that once I get accepted into a college I will suddenly get the feeling that I have done it all and its time to coast and enjoy myself. I can’t afford to that. With two advance placement classes, two college courses, and a significant number of electives, I have to constantly be on my toes. From here on out, it seems like it will become a sprint. I will have to get the grades I need, get all of my applications filled out and be sure to keep getting enough sleep throughout the process. I am doing my best to stay ahead of the game. I tend to be a bit of a procrastinator, so the more I can stay ahead, the more prepared I will be for whatever else comes at me. Another fear that comes to mind is how much I am going to miss my mom. I have always been excited to live in my own place, have a job, and earn my own money. But it makes me sad to think that this is the last chance I have to spend a lot of time with her. Have I taken full advantage of the time I’ve had? Of course it’s fun to think about being independent and responsible, but it’s not fun thinking I can never go back. I will no longer be a child she can rescue. I will be an adult, and will be on my own The most frequent question a senior asks his or herself is â€Å"what am I going to do after high school? † My dream is to help people. My goal is to become an orthopedic surgeon. Once I attain this, I want to go into the military and use my skills as a surgeon. It would not matter where I was living as long as I am making a difference in the world. This dream partially came from my mom because she helps and makes a difference everyday as nurse. I have so much respect toward her. She inspired me to help those who cannot. I have always wanted to go into the military. It was a calling. Something deep inside said this is that path I need to take. Throughout the years my determination for this dream to come true only gets stronger and stronger. I would like to go to college at NC State, UNC, or Wilmington. From there I would study pre-med and a military science program. After that, medical school and enlist in the navy. .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 , .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .postImageUrl , .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 , .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835:hover , .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835:visited , .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835:active { border:0!important; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835:active , .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835 .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u291215c9757cf517c6f2062d50e48835:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Minimum Wage EssayFrom there live out my dream and make a difference in the world.
